The Comertech CT-I6X is built on a Freescale i.MX6 System on Chip (SoC), using an ARM Cortex-A9 processor up to 1GHz compatible. With an extraordinary performance-to-power ratio, the CT-I6x enables system architects to use a fully passive cooled system design, ideal for portable and stationary embedded devices such as industrial handhelds, control terminals, Human Machine Interfaces, medical devices, and industrial tablets. Comertech's CT-I6X definition standard 3.5” and offers 2GB DRAM, 4 GB eMMC flash on-board. CT-I6X supports 24-bit Parallel TTL , HDMI 1080P , and 24-bit LVDS displays.

The CT-I6X also features USB 2.0 host port and a USB OTG port, Serial ports and a CAN bus port, and one 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, and a lot of GPIO signals. Standard operating systems include Yocto Linux, Android with corresponding board support package (BSP).

The CT-I6X functions as a reference design for the CT product line, and also as a setup for software development and hardware testing. The CT-I6X provides a HDMI output, 24 bit TTL , LVDS 24 bit, a 4/5 wires touchscreen controller, 1x GbE, I2S Audio ,uSD socket, SDIO, GPIO, UART , 3x USB, 1x USB OTG, 1x CAN port , especially support wireless connectivity 802.11 b/g/n ,BT4.0 and NFC .One mini PCIe sockets enable use of 3G/LTE modules for extend connectivity.

The ComerTech CT-3354 is built on a TI AM335x System on Chip (SoC), using an ARM Cortex-A8 processor at 1GHz compatible and with a power envelope of less than 2 Watts. With an extraordinary performance-to-power ratio, the CT-3354 enables system architects to use a fully passive cooled system design, ideal for portable and stationary embedded devices such as industrial handhelds, control terminals, Human Machine Interfaces, medical devices, and industrial tablets. 


ComerTech's CT-3354 utilizes the short version of the SMARC module definition (82 mm x 50 mm) and offers 256/512 MB DRAM, 4 GB eMMC flash on-board. The module supports 18/24-bit Parallel LCD displays and 18/24-bit LVDS displays.

The CT-3354 also features a USB 2.0 host port and a USB OTG port, two Serial ports and a CAN bus port, and one 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, as well as 12 GPIO signals. Off module storage can be implemented through either SDIO or eMMC on the carrier. Standard operating systems include Linux, Android, and Windows CE, with corresponding board support package (BSP). 

Along with the release of the SMARC module, ComerTech also introduces the SMARC carrier board, CTB-3354. The CTB-3354 functions as a reference design for the CT product line, and also as a setup for software development and hardware testing. The CTB-3354 offers myriad I/O in addition to the basic I/O function of the CPU modules. It provides a VGA(D-SUB) output, RGB 18/24 bit, LVDS 18/24 bit, a touchscreen controller, 1x GbE, I2S Audio,SD/SDIO, eMMC/SD/SDIO, GPIO, 1x RS232 , 1xRS232/422/485 selectable, 3x USB, 1x USB OTG, 1x CAN.

One mini PCIe sockets enable use of Wi-Fi / Bluetooth and 3G modules for connectivity. The BSP for each CPU module is configured to support the entire on-board functionality to minimize delays in testing and maximize time for application development. 

The CT-3354, as intended with the SMARC standard, can be seen as a building block to allow for effective development and a future upgrade path with coming generations of SMARC COMs. To meet the demands of industrial-grade applications, the CT-3354 uses the robust and vibration-resistant 314 pin MXM connector, and is available with extended operating temperatures from -20°C to +70 °C.

It can also be used together with SMARC CT-335x as an “application ready” 3.5-inch single board computer.

Board Dimension

The Module pins are designated as P1 – P156 on the Module Primary (Top) side, and S1 – S158 on the Module Secondary (Bottom) side. There is a total of 314 pins on the Module. The connector is sometimes identified as a 321 pin connector, but 7 pins are lost to the key (4 on the primary side and 3 on secondary side). 

The SMARC  Module pins are deliberately numbered as P1 – P156 and S1 – S158 for clarity and to differentiate the SMARC  Module from MXM3 graphics modules, which use the same connector but use the pins for very different functions. MXM3 cards and MXM3 baseboard connectors use different pin numbering scheme.  

The figure on the following page details the 82mm x 50mm Module mechanical attributes, including the pin numbering and edge finger pattern.

  • Warranty

Customers of Comertech are served with products free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a standard warranty period of 18 moths from the invoice date. Customer shall write Comertech in details of any malfunction found in any product under warranty period. Such notification and return shall be handled under Comertech's Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) standard procedure. Comertech's liability for RMA under warranty period shall be limited to replacement or repair of the defective product.

The warranty excludes any product which has been repaired or altered without authorization. Warranty is not valid under any defect caused by abuse, misuse, negligence and modification.

  • RMA service: a RMA number will be assigned upon customers’ RMA requests
  1. Please describe Comertech with the malfunction as detailed as possible which enables Comertech to look into the problem precisely.
  2. Comertech RMA Request form must be enclosed with the return item(s).
  3. Customers are responsible for packaging the returned item(s) properly. All warranties will be void on items which are insufficiently or inaccurately packaged.
  4. For products under warranty period, customer is responsible for inbound shipping cost and Comertech takes the outbound one.
